Sheep Are Picky Eaters and Auditory Learners

Lamb Kisses | The 25 Cutest Animal Kisses:

Sheep by nature are picky eaters. They just are. I learned that from reading a book entitled, " A Shepherd Looks at the 23rd Psalm".

Yesterday I learned that auditory learners are verbal processors. That's part of how they make sense of what they are learning. Many people are auditory learners and there is a common factor with sheep. Here's how. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.(Romans 10:17) Believers have received a love of the truth that unbelievers do not possess. (2 Thess. 2:10)

Sheep are ruminate animals which is just a fancy way to say they chew the cud. This is what it is like when we meditate on the word. It's also may be why many people misunderstand believers. We are often called "Bible thumpers" because we talk about what we love and what we are learning. We don't always get it right because we are all works in progress. (Eph. 2:10) He started the work and He will complete the work. (Philippians 1:6)

There's a whole lot of strange things going on in our world today. Seems like all the news is bad and people are being pitted against each other. A sister in the Lord said this recently, "It's easy to find the dirt on people, be the one who sees the gold." I think that was her way of saying Proverbs 11:27 He who seeks good finds favor but trouble will come to him who seeks evil.

That's not spooky or mysterious its practical! Jesus tells us not to let our hearts be troubled. So when we allow our minds to think negatively about anyone or anything that is a voice that isn't His! Use those thoughts to bring you to prayer. Invite light into it through intercession. Ask Jesus to examine your heart first and then pray over that situation.

Jesus said, " My Sheep know My voice." (John 101:27-28) I believe He says what He means and He means what He says.

Also realize we need to renew our minds every single day understanding that spiritual truth makes no sense to the carnal or natural mind. (They are at war with one another. (Romans 12:2; Romans 8:7)

In closing let me encourage you to be patient with those auditory learners in your life. Like you they are learning, just differently. Sometimes they just need to let the ideas in their minds develop before they share. A good way to pray for these auditory learners is that they learn who to process with and who not to. God knows their hearts.

Father please help those who read this to be encouraged by it!
