Being Blessed Doesn't Always Seem Like A Blessing

There are times when we are blessed by blessed events. Having a baby, getting that promotion at work or a new car, those things are happy, feel-good things. But if we take a look at when Jesus says we are blessed its quite different and even painful at times.

When you have the time take a good look at the Beatitudes. Those who are poor in spirit, persecuted, the mournful, those who are reviled and falsely accused are considered to be blessed. Why?  Jesus said it was because our reward in heaven would be great and that the prophets of old were also badly treated. In fact Jesus said that if men hate us that we should remember that they hated Him first.

Be encouraged when going through times of "blessedness." Jesus was blessed too and He walks with you.

 


Matthew 5:10-12Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.   John 15:18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
