Self-pity

From the moment we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior we are engaged in spiritual warfare.  Satan wants to us neutralize our relationship with Jesus so we are ineffective.

One way he can accomplish his goal is to get us to look at ourselves and our circumstances more than we look to Jesus. Trials come and we feel like we've been thrown under the bus. We feel we've been victimized. We feel, and feel and feel. Ultimately we feel so sorry for ourselves we can't move forward. But the Word says... Now let the weak say I am strong!

We will go through difficulties and we may agonize over some of them. But that grief should cause us to call out to Jesus instead of constantly looking into the mirror of self-pity.
