Webster's Learner's Dictionary defines the word let as: to allow or permit something. To allow or permit implies authority.
The Bible uses the word let many times. For instance in Genesis 1 God said, "Let there be... light, land, water etc.
The word, "let" is used in the New Testament many times too. Just do a little research. You will find "let" or "do not let" many times.
The point is that we must follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit to do His work in us. We are made of flesh and falter many times. It is hard to let go of our fleshly response to be angry or selfish. But if we allow ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit, He will produce His fruit in us. (Galatians 5:22-25)
*Colossians 3:15-16 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
This blog is about lessons that I am learning and want to share with you. Romans 12:8 (NLT) If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
